Statement on the Bondi Beach Attack and the Spread

Statement condemning the 14 December 2025 mass shooting at Bondi Beach in Sydney, mourning the victims and expressing solidarity with the people of Australia. Kaharagia further condemns the spread of online misinformation and the public misidentification of innocent individuals in the aftermath, urging restraint, due process, and responsible public discourse. The statement rejects collective blame against any religion or community and calls for compassion, truth, and accountability in response to the tragedy.

The Principality of Kaharagia condemns, without reservation, the mass shooting carried out on 14 December 2025 at Bondi Beach in Sydney. We mourn the dead, we grieve with the injured and their families, and we stand in solidarity with the people of Australia in the face of a brutal and senseless crime.

We also condemn the behaviour that too often follows such atrocities online, namely the rush to speculate, to play amateur detective, and to circulate names and claims as though they were established facts. In recent hours, false allegations have been shared widely, including the public targeting of an innocent person who happened to share a name with one of the perpetrators, leaving him forced to post a video simply to clear his name. This is not harmless gossip. It is dangerous, and it can cause real harm.

Justice must be pursued by lawful authorities and through due process, not by social media mobs. Spreading rumours, misidentifying people, and amplifying unverified claims undermines public safety and corrodes public trust at the very moment restraint is most needed.

Finally, Kaharagia rejects any attempt to blame an entire religion, community, or country for the actions of individuals. Collective blame is unjust and fuels prejudice and further violence, when the priority must be truth, responsibility, and compassion.

The Principality extends its sincere condolences to the victims' families and urges all who speak publicly, especially online, to act with care, restraint, and responsibility.
