On the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Belgium, I have the honour to extend to Your Majesty my warmest greetings and sincere congratulations.

Belgium holds together distinct communities within a single constitutional monarchy, and Brussels has become the meeting place where much of Europe’s common business is settled. I wish to acknowledge that patient work of accommodation, and to offer the Belgian people continued concord and prosperity in the year ahead.
