Do not travel to Abkhazia due to Russian occupation, crime, and civil unrest.
Do not travel to Abkhazia. The region is occupied by Russian forces, the de facto authorities are not internationally recognised, and crime and civil unrest present serious risks. Entry points are subject to closure without notice, documents issued in the region are invalid for onward travel, and no consular assistance of any kind is available. Travellers who enter may also face prosecution under Georgian law.
