Greenland — Exercise Normal Precautions

Exercise normal precautions when travelling to Greenland.
Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark and the world's largest island. It is extremely safe with virtually no violent crime. The primary risks are environmental — extreme Arctic weather, remote terrain, and limited infrastructure outside Nuuk and a few towns. Medical facilities in Nuuk are adequate for basic care but very limited elsewhere. Evacuation by air may be needed for serious emergencies and can be delayed by weather. Polar bear encounters are possible in remote areas. Helicopter and small aircraft transport between towns is weather-dependent and frequently disrupted.
