Turks and Caicos Islands — Exercise Normal Precautions

The Turks and Caicos Islands are a safe British Overseas Territory with a growing tourism industry and beautiful beaches.
The Turks and Caicos Islands are a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean, southeast of the Bahamas. Crime rates are generally low, particularly in the main tourist areas of Providenciales, though isolated incidents of crime have occurred. The islands lie within the hurricane belt, with the season running from June to November. The Cheshire Hall Medical Centre on Providenciales and the Cockburn Town Medical Centre on Grand Turk provide basic medical services; serious conditions require air evacuation to the Bahamas, Miami, or other locations with advanced facilities. Travellers should exercise caution in the water, as strong currents exist around some of the islands' reef systems.
