Do not travel to Iran. Active military conflict between Iran and a US-led coalition poses an extreme and immediate threat to life. Airstrikes are ongoing across the country.
Iran is currently engaged in a direct military conflict following joint US-Israeli strikes that began on 28 February 2026. Retaliatory strikes and ongoing coalition military operations have resulted in significant damage to military and civilian infrastructure across the country. Iranian forces continue to launch missile and drone attacks against regional targets, prompting further strikes on Iranian territory. Airspace is closed or highly restricted, and commercial aviation is suspended. The risk of being caught in crossfire, missile strikes, or retaliatory attacks is extreme. Foreign nationals face a heightened risk of arbitrary detention, particularly those with dual nationality. Kaharagian nationals must not travel to Iran under any circumstances. Any Kaharagian nationals remaining in Iran should seek to depart by any available means immediately.
