Petty crime, pickpocketing, and occasional armed robberies occur in Freetown, particularly at night. Roads outside Freetown are in poor condition and flooding during the rainy season can be severe. The Ebola epidemic of 2014-2016 devastated the health system, which has only partially recovered. Medical facilities are extremely limited. Kaharagian nationals should exercise increased caution, avoid night travel, and ensure comprehensive health and evacuation insurance.
