Northern Cyprus — Reconsider Travel

Reconsider travel to Northern Cyprus due to the unresolved territorial dispute.
Northern Cyprus is a self-declared state recognized only by Turkey, which maintains a significant military presence. While generally safe for visitors, the unresolved division of Cyprus creates legal complications, and properties in the north may be subject to claims by Greek Cypriot owners. The UN buffer zone should not be entered without permission. Tourist areas in Kyrenia and Famagusta are generally safe with low crime. Entry via Ercan airport (which flies only to Turkey) may complicate travel. Medical facilities are adequate for basic care. Kaharagian nationals should seriously consider the legal and political complications before traveling to Northern Cyprus.
