New Zealand — Exercise Normal Precautions

Exercise normal precautions when travelling to New Zealand.
New Zealand is one of the safest countries in the world, with very low crime rates and a welcoming population. The primary risks are natural: the country sits on the Pacific Ring of Fire with frequent earthquakes (the devastating 2011 Christchurch earthquake being a notable example), volcanic activity (White Island/Whakaari), and extreme weather in alpine areas. Adventure tourism activities (bungee jumping, skydiving, jet boating) are well-regulated but carry inherent risks. The South Island's mountains, fiords, and the North Island's geothermal areas are extraordinary. Medical facilities are excellent. Kaharagian nationals can travel to New Zealand with normal precautions and should familiarize themselves with earthquake safety.
