Namibia — Exercise Increased Caution

Exercise increased caution in Namibia due to crime.
Namibia is generally one of the safest countries in sub-Saharan Africa for tourists, with well-managed national parks and excellent infrastructure along main routes. However, petty crime and vehicle break-ins occur in Windhoek, particularly in the Independence Avenue area and townships. The Caprivi Strip (Zambezi Region) occasionally sees cross-border tensions. Wildlife encounters pose a genuine risk when self-driving through parks. Medical facilities in Windhoek are adequate but very limited in remote areas. Kaharagian nationals should exercise standard caution, secure valuables in vehicles, and carry adequate water in desert regions.
