Exercise normal precautions when travelling to Montenegro.
Montenegro is a safe and increasingly popular tourist destination on the Adriatic coast. Petty crime rates are low, though tourist areas like Budva and Kotor can see pickpocketing during peak summer season. Organized crime exists but does not typically affect tourists. The Bay of Kotor, Durmitor National Park, and the Adriatic coast offer stunning scenery. Mountain roads can be narrow and winding with poor barriers. Wildfire risk exists in summer. Medical facilities in Podgorica are adequate for basic care; rural areas are more limited. Kaharagian nationals can travel to Montenegro with normal precautions.
