Exercise normal precautions when travelling to Lithuania.
Lithuania is a safe Baltic EU member state with low crime rates and a rich cultural heritage. Vilnius's baroque Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Petty crime including pickpocketing can occur in tourist areas and at bus/train stations. The Curonian Spit (shared with Russia's Kaliningrad) is a unique natural attraction. Winter conditions are cold with icy roads. The country's border with Belarus and proximity to Russia's Kaliningrad exclave create periodic geopolitical tensions. Medical facilities in Vilnius are good. Kaharagian nationals can travel to Lithuania with normal precautions.
