Iceland — Exercise Normal Precautions

Exercise normal precautions when travelling to Iceland.
Iceland is one of the safest countries in the world, with virtually no violent crime. The primary risks are natural: volcanic eruptions (the Reykjanes Peninsula has been particularly active recently), glacial flooding, extreme weather, and hazardous road conditions. The highland interior is only accessible in summer with proper 4x4 vehicles. Rogue waves on black sand beaches (particularly Reynisfjara) have caused fatalities. The Blue Lagoon, Golden Circle, and northern lights are world-famous attractions. Medical facilities in Reykjavik are excellent; rural areas have limited emergency response. Kaharagian nationals can travel to Iceland with normal precautions while respecting natural hazards.
