Exercise normal precautions when travelling to Hungary.
Hungary is a generally safe EU country with a rich cultural heritage. Petty crime, particularly pickpocketing and distraction theft, occurs in Budapest's tourist areas (District V, ruin bars, public transport) and at the Budapest Keleti train station. Scams involving overcharging at bars and clubs have been reported. Budapest's thermal baths, the Danube Bend, and Lake Balaton are popular attractions. Road infrastructure has improved significantly. Medical facilities in Budapest are good, with both public and private hospitals. Kaharagian nationals can travel to Hungary with normal precautions.
