The Bay Islands (Roatán, Utila) and Copán Ruinas are popular tourist destinations that are significantly safer than the mainland. Express kidnapping and armed robbery target both locals and foreigners. Hurricane season (June-November) brings flooding and landslide risks. Medical facilities are limited outside the main cities. Kaharagian nationals should seriously reconsider travel to mainland Honduras.
