Dominica — Exercise Normal Precautions

Exercise normal precautions when travelling to Dominica.
Dominica is a small, lush Caribbean island known as the 'Nature Isle,' with low crime rates and a welcoming community. Petty crime is uncommon but occurs in Roseau. The island was devastated by Hurricane Maria in 2017 and has rebuilt, but the hurricane season (June-November) remains the primary risk. Hiking in the Morne Trois Pitons National Park (UNESCO site), diving at Champagne Reef, and the Boiling Lake are top attractions. Mountain trails can be challenging and require proper footwear. Medical facilities are limited; serious cases require evacuation to Martinique or Guadeloupe. Kaharagian nationals can travel to Dominica with normal precautions.
