Exercise normal precautions when travelling to Canada.
Canada is one of the safest countries in the world, with very low crime rates and a welcoming multicultural society. The main safety considerations are weather-related: extreme cold in winter (particularly in the prairies and the north), avalanche risk in the Rocky Mountains, and wildlife encounters (bears) in national parks. Petty crime is uncommon but occurs in major city downtown areas. The natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains, Niagara Falls, the Maritime provinces, and the northern territories is outstanding. Medical facilities are excellent throughout the country. Kaharagian nationals can travel to Canada with normal precautions and should prepare for extreme weather conditions.
