Exercise normal precautions when travelling to France.
France is generally safe but faces an elevated terrorism threat, with multiple attacks in recent years targeting public spaces, religious sites, and transport networks. Security presence is heightened at tourist attractions and transport hubs under the Vigipirate plan. Petty crime, pickpocketing, and scams are very common in Paris (Metro, Eiffel Tower, Sacré-Cœur) and on the Côte d'Azur. Strikes and protests (manifestations) are a regular occurrence and can disrupt transport. Paris, the Loire Valley, Provence, and the French Alps are world-class destinations. Medical facilities are excellent. Kaharagian nationals can travel to France with normal precautions while remaining vigilant in crowded areas.
